“I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever”
We are proud of our unique blend of traditional and modern styles which range from organ hymns to newly-written songs accompanied by our worship band which plays once a month. This is a reflection of the diversity of our congregation and demonstrates the beautiful harmony we can achieve when we are united in one purpose: praising God.
“Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and the lyre,
praise him with the timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” (Psalm 150)
Although we don’t quite have a harp at St Aldhelm’s, we’re always looking to expand our group of musicians! If you play a musical instrument, we would love you to get involved in worship at St Aldhelm’s. We also welcome keen singers to join the friendly choir. They sing regularly at Sunday morning services, and meet for rehearsals on Saturday mornings.
Our newly-revamped Gospel Choir had its debut performance at a Sunday morning service in August 2011. We had a great reception! If you would like to get involved in singing gospel music please let us know – rehearsals are only once a month, and you just need plenty of enthusiasm!
If you are interested please get in touch with the Parish Office (by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 020 8807 5336), and don’t forget to mention whether you would like to sing or play, and your instrument and approximate standard.
